Focus Team

Public Affairs

In providing legal and tax assistance to corporations, multinational groups and trade and union associations, e-IUS professionals have built up considerable experience in public affairs activities. Indeed, more and more often, besides providing traditional professional assistance, professionals are also required to speak to institutions, to monitor and analyse both European and domestic legislative activity and the sudden changes in the market, especially the emerging market. For this reason, remaining faithful to our distinctively innovative and dynamic approach, we have set up a focus team centred on public affairs activities, with the desire to provide clients with integrated professional support. In particular, the activities concern Country Analysis, i.e. a detailed assessment of the opportunities and risks of a given country for investment or trade; News briefing, i.e. reviewing and collecting information, both open source (such as the media, think tanks and social networks) and confidential and exclusive (such as institutions, universities and associations) and filtering relevant elements of information, on which to base decision-making and minimise the “noise” produced by excessive stimuli; preparing Policy memos that provide information or policy recommendations (i.e. public policy) to people who work on the issue but are not experts in the subject; drafting Position papers to express a subject’s position on a specific issue and present evidence to support that position; Legal briefs, which is made up of interpreting, anticipating, monitoring and responding to a constantly evolving regulatory environment, both internationally and in specific jurisdictions or operating sectors, thus providing clients with the most accurate selection of everything the business may need, from a legal and regulatory perspective, including legislative updates published in the Official Journal, implementing rules, circulars, best practices and interpretations provided by national and supranational courts; Speech writing, which enables organisations to communicate their decisions and positions on international economic or political events, internally or externally; Monitoring and institutional relations, which translates into monitoring the progress and developments of legislation at national and international level, including the collection of official communications from the relevant institutions and privileged information sources; Regulatory drafting, which translates into drafting proposals for regulatory intervention (e.g. amendments), or drafting position papers, reports and press releases.
